The Secretary of State, being a Minister designated( 1 ) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972( 2 ) in relation to measures relating to access to the labour market of the United Kingdom, in exercise of the powers conferred by that section, makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement I1

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Accession (Immigration and Worker Registration) (Amendment) Regulations 2009 and shall come into force on 29 th April 2009.

Amendment of the Accession (Immigration and Worker Registration) Regulations 2004I2

2. In regulation 1(2)(c) of the Accession (Immigration and Worker Registration) Regulations 2004( 3 ) (definition of โ€œaccession periodโ€), for โ€œ30 th April 2009โ€ substitute โ€œ30 th April 2011โ€.
