The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 113(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006( 1 ), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order as follows:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Chief Inspector of Education, Children’s Services and Skills Order 2011 and comes into force on the day after the day on which it is made.

Appointment to the office of Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education, Children’s Services and Skills

2. Sir Michael Wilshaw is appointed to the office of Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education, Children’s Services and Skills for a period of 5 years from 1st January 2012.

Revocation

3. The Education (Chief Inspector of Schools in England) Order 2006 is revoked( 2 ).
