Nursing and Midwifery Council v Plastow

The court may extend an interim suspension order where, having considered the material before it, it is satisfied that an extension is appropriate.

The Nursing and Midwifery Council applied for a four-month extension of an interim suspension order imposed on the respondent on 13 April 2011. The respondent did not appear and was not represented. The court considered the applicant’s skeleton argument, a witness statement dated 20 September 2012 and its exhibits.

1. The application was granted. Mr Justice Wyn Williams was satisfied, on the information available, that extending the interim suspension order was appropriate.
2. The interim suspension order imposed on 13 April 2011 was extended for four months.
