The Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products and Energy Information (Amendment) Regulations 2014

The Secretary of State is a Minister designated( 1 ) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972( 2 ) in relation to the environmental aspects of product design and makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by that section.

Citation and commencement

(2) For the entry relating to electrical and electronic household and office equipment at item 2 substitute—

“ 2 Electrical and electronic household and office equipment Commission Regulation (EC) No 1275/2008 implementing ( Directive 2009/125/EC 4 ) of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to ecodesign requirements for standby and off mode, and networked standby, electric power consumption of electrical and electronic household and office equipment ( 5 ) ”

(3) For the entry relating to a television at item 6 substitute—

“ 6 A television Commission Regulation (EC) No 642/2009 implementing Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to ecodesign requirements for televisions ( 6 ) ”

(4) After item 17 insert—

“ 18 A computer or a computer server Commission Regulation ( EU ) No 617/2013 implementing Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to ecodesign requirements for computers and computer servers ( 7 )
19 A vacuum cleaner Commission Regulation (EU) No 666/2013 implementing Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to ecodesign requirements for vacuum cleaners ( 8 )
20 A water heater or a hot water storage tank Commission Regulation (EU) No 814/2013 implementing Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to ecodesign requirements for water heaters and hot water storage tanks ( 9 )
21 A space heater or a combination heater Commission Regulation (EU) No 813/2013 implementing Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to ecodesign requirements for space heaters and combination heaters ( 10 )
22 A domestic oven, a hob or a range hood Commission Regulation (EU) No 66/2014 implementing Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to ecodesign requirements for domestic ovens, hobs and range hoods ( 11 ) ”

Amendment of the Energy Information Regulations 2011

3. —(1) The table at Schedule 1 (EU measures) of the Energy Information Regulations 2011( 12 ) is amended as follows.

(2) After the entry relating to Electrical lamps and luminaires insert—

“ Vacuum cleaners Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 665/2013 supplementing Directive 2010/30/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to energy labelling of vacuum cleaners ( 13 ) The dates set out in Articles 3, 4 and 8 of Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 665/2013
Water heaters, hot water storage tanks and packages of water heater and solar device Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 812/2013 supplementing Directive 2010/30/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to the energy labelling of water heaters, hot water storage tanks and packages of water heater and solar device ( 14 ) The dates set out in Article 3 of Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 812/2013
Space heaters, combination heaters, packages of space heater, temperature control and solar device and packages of combination heater, temperature control and solar device Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 811/2013 supplementing Directive 2010/30/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to the energy labelling of space heaters, combination heaters, packages of space heater, temperature control and solar device and packages of combination heater, temperature control and solar device ( 15 ) The dates set out in Article 3 of Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 811/2013
Domestic ovens and range hoods Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 65/2014 supplementing Directive 2010/30/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to the energy labelling of domestic ovens and range hoods ( 16 ) The dates set out in Article 10 of Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 65/2014 ”

Commission Regulation (EC) No 1275/2008 originally implemented Directive 2005/32/EC , however that Directive was repealed by Article 24 of Directive 2009/125/EC , which provides that all references to Directive 2005/32/EC are to be construed as references to Directive 2009/125/EC .
