The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 52(1) and 60 of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981( 1 ).

Representative organisations have been consulted in accordance with section 61(2) of that Act( 2 ).

In determining the amount of fees specified in these Regulations, the Secretary of State has taken into account the costs of the functions listed in paragraphs 7 to 9 of Schedule 1 to the Department for Transport (Fees) Order 2009( 3 ) and has taken into account the matters listed in Schedule 2 to that Order in determining the costs of those functions.

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Public Service Vehicles (Operators’ Licences) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2014 and come into force on 1st October 2014.

Amendment of Regulations

2. —(1)The Public Service Vehicles (Operators’ Licences) (Fees) Regulations 1995( 4 ) are amended as follows.

(2) In column 3 of the Schedule —

(a) in relation to fee numbers (i) and (ii), for “£206” substitute “£209”;

(b) in relation to fee number (v), for “£121” substitute “£122”.

1981 c.14 ; section 52(1) was amended by the Transport Act 1985 (c.67) , Schedule 1, paragraph 7, Schedule 2, Part II, paragraph 4(14) and Schedule 8, and by the Deregulation and Contracting Out Act 1994 (c.40) , section 66(2) and S.I. 2013/1644 . Section 60 of the 1981 Act was amended by the 1985 Act, section 134(2) and Schedule 8. Section 60(1)(e) was substituted by section 66(5) of the 1994 Act. There are other amendments to section 60 but none is relevant.

Section 61(2) of the 1981 Act was amended by the 1985 Act, section 139(3) and Schedule 8.
