The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 124(5) and (6) of the Higher Education and Research Act 2017( 1 ):

Citation

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Higher Education and Research Act 2017 (Commencement No. 1) Regulations 2017.

Provisions coming into force on 1st January 2018

2. The following provisions of the Higher Education and Research Act 2017 come into force on 1st January 2018—

(a) section 1 (the Office for Students);

(b) Schedule 1 (the Office for Students).
