The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 4(3) of Regulation (EC) No 300/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 March 2008 on rules in the field of civil aviation security(1).

Citation, commencement and extent

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Aviation Security (Amendment) Regulations 2025.

(2) These Regulations come into force on 23rd June 2025.

(3) These Regulations extend to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Amendment of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1998

2.—(1) The Annex to Commission Implementing of 5 November 2015 laying down detailed measures for the implementation of the basic standards on aviation security(Regulation (EU) 2015/19982) is amended as follows.

(2) Omit Chapters 3 (aircraft security) and 7 (air carrier mail and air carrier materials).
