The Asylum Support (Amendment) Regulations 2010

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 166(3) of, and paragraphs 1 and 3(a) of Schedule 8 to, the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999( 1 ), makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Asylum Support (Amendment) Regulations 2010 and shall come into force on the 12 th April 2010.

Kind and levels of support for essential living needs

2. For the table at regulation 10(2) of the Asylum Support Regulations 2000( 2 ) substitute -

Table

Qualifying couple £70.34
Lone parent aged 18 or over £42.62
Single person aged 25 or over (where the decision to grant support was made prior to the 5 th October 2009 and the person reached age 25 prior to that date) £42.62
Any other single person aged 18 or over £35.52
Person aged at least 16 but under 18 (except a member of a qualifying couple) £38.60
Person aged under 16 £51.37 .

Revocation of the Asylum Support (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2009

3. The Asylum Support (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2009 are revoked.
