The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972( 1 ).
The Secretary of State is a Minister designated( 2 ) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 in relation to the environmental aspects of product design.
Citation and Commencement
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products (Amendment) Regulations 2020 and come into force on 26th May 2020.
Amendment of the Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products Regulations 2010
2. In paragraph 4 of Schedule 1 to the Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products Regulations 2010( 3 ) (declaration of conformity) for the second column of entry 1 in the table substitute—
| “ Commission Regulation (EU) No 2019/1782 laying down ecodesign requirements for external power supplies pursuant to Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council and repealing ( Commission Regulation (EC) No 278/2009 4 ) ” . |

1972 c.68 . Section 2(2) was relevantly amended by section 27(1) of the Legislative and Regulatory Reform Act 2006 (c.51) and by section 3 of, and Part 1 of the Schedule to, the European Union (Amendment) Act 2008 (c.7) . The European Communities Act 1972 was repealed on exit day by the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (c.16) , but continues to have effect until IP completion day pursuant to section 1A of that Act, inserted by section 1 of the European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Act 2020 (c.1) .
