Listed firms can show their place on their own website: each firm's profile page has a ranking badge to copy.
Firms are ranked by the number of cases from 2022–2026 in this area in which judgments name them as solicitors, under their current name (judgments naming a firm that has since merged count towards the firm it joined). Several judgments in the same case, such as interim rulings, a later judgment on costs or an appeal, count as one case: judgments are linked by the court's case number and by appeals, or failing that by the parties' names. Only firms named in at least 3 cases are ranked, and equal counts share a place. This measures how often a firm acts in reported cases, not their outcome. Counts are minimums: they come from judgments published by The National Archives (Find Case Law), not every judgment names the solicitors, and a judgment counts only when we are confident who acted. Areas are assigned from each judgment's court and subject matter, and a judgment can fall in two areas. Firm details include data from the Solicitors Regulation Authority. zoomLaw is independent of every firm listed. Something wrong? Tell us.
